Underwater Love

Photography Rosie Anderson

As a wedding photographer things can get a bit quiet during the winter months and I’d had this idea to do an underwater wedding  photography shoot for a while. However shooting couples underwater…that’s not so easy to organise, you have to think about everything differently– hair, makeup, lighting, how the fabric moves in the water (and trust me the local swimming pool was having none of it!)

Technical stuff aside I also had to find a couple who were willing to dunk themselves underwater repeatedly!! Tom and Gemma my obliging subjects are childhood sweethearts and they had to work together and really look after each other on this shoot. What I realised is that the water closes the gap between people there is no air getting in the way, no words – it’s all about that moment. Something really special happens underwater – it’s hard to put your finger on it but I for one am hooked – got my next underwater shoot lined up already! (Big thank you to everyone involved – could not have done this without you! X)
