Pirates And Princesses – Pirate Themed Wedding at Gurrow Point, Dartmouth

Photography by Rosie Anderson

Sarah and James got married in the South Devon town of Dartmouth. The theme was Pirates but Sarah definitely looked like a princess with an amazingly voluminous dress by Allure. After the church service they ferried their wedding party up the river to Gurrow Point with its stunning views of the river dart.

At the reception they broke from tradition – stashed under each table was a treasure trove full of stuffed parrots, cutlasses and eye patches. I’m guessing it was probably the first pirate themed wedding at Gurrow Point!  It wasn’t long before the entire wedding party was playing pirate dress-up. Good old Bangers and mash were served up by Chef Serin Aubry from the Dartmouth fine Foods and for dessert a magnificent Croquembouche which Sarah and James cut with the only thing they could…….a cutlass!
