English Country Garden Wedding
Photography by Rosie Anderson
Rosemary and Ed got married last September in Dorset. Rosemary wanted a ‘Traditional English country garden wedding……but brighter!’ – The bridesmaids dresses were indeed very bright and simple and they somehow summed up everything that a wedding should be…happy and joyful. They were designed and made by Jet Shenkman at Eponine London as was Rosemary’s beautiful dress. Her veil was first worn by her grandmother and looked absolutely lovely adorned with fresh flowers. I’m not so sure those Sophia Webster pink and blue polka dot shoes were quite so in keeping with the ‘traditional’ wedding but they looked totally fabulous!
The wedding took place in a church short walk away from Rosemarys parents house where the celebrations were held. A little path was mown through the meadow with delightful little rustic lavender decorated archways for everyone to pass through en route back to the garden reception. We were blessed with a little bit of late afternoon golden light which we took full advantage of by putting my medium format film camera to good use.
The wedding was filled full of lovely touches – I loved the use of under ripe black berries in the flowers and button holes, also the flowers in Rosemarys hair. Actually all of the florals by Miranda Fairhust were beautiful. The whole day felt relaxed and understated even down to the simple lemon drizzle wedding cake. It was I think, the perfect wedding. They used this sweet little quote on their order of service… ……‘All the he did, he did with her’ A.A Milne
