Ash Barton Estate Wedding

Photography by Rosie Anderson

I think the Ash Barton Estate near Braunton might have just jumped the queue to be one of my favourite wedding venues in Devon. Just minutes away from the North Devon coast this quirky, homely, beautiful property was the backdrop to Gina and Mathews ‘holiday week’ wedding! (Why have a wedding ‘day’ when you can have a whole week!!)They invited close family and friends for the first four days to include the wedding day and the rest of their friends joined them later in the week. They wanted a very relaxed holiday feel where everyone could stay at the venue.

The wedding itself was very intimate and emotional. The small barn was decorated with brightly coloured dried wild flowers and lavender which scented the room. They got married surrounded by their closest family.

The whole day was a crafty, whimsical, bohemian made-with-love extravaganza! They had bunting with cats, hearts, butterflies and triangles, a beautifully decorated wedding arch, an exquisite silk veil, hand carved candle holders, dried flowers and flower garlands. I think everyone contributed in one way or another.

My favourite part was wondering around the beautiful grounds, wild flower meadow and lake which made such a fabulous backdrop for Gina and Mathews wedding photos! It was a pleasure to photograph Gina & Mathews big day – If you are on the look out for a Devon wedding photographer Please get in touch.
